  11. Prepare 1 tbsp oil + 2 tbsp butter
  12. Prepare 1.5 cups water
  13. Get to taste salt,
  14. Make ready 1 handful coriander leaves for garnishing (optional)
Instructions to make Butter Paneer Masala:
  1. Add oil and butter in a pan.
  2. Add bay leaf and fry till the oil becomes fragrant.
  3. Add ginger and garlic and fry till the raw aroma disappears.
  4. Add tomato puree and stir.
  5. When the puree begins to cook, after about 5mins, add red chilli powder.
  6. Stir and continue to saute on a low flame, till the oil starts leaving the sides of the pan. This takes approx 20mins.
  7. Add the cashew nut paste and cook for another 5mins, continuously stirring it.
  8. Add water and let it simmer, it will become thick.
  9. Add the slit green chilli and salt and stir well.
  10. Add the paneer cubes and cook in the gravy till they become soft and cooked.
  11. Add crushed kasuri methi leaves and garam masala.
  12. Stir well and garnish wish coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or paratha.
