In making these samosas I fried potatoes in aromatic spices for some time, let them cool down, stuffed this filling in tortillas triangles, sealed them gently and deep fried them at low heat till samosas were golden browned and crispy. Samosas are crispy fried tortilla pockets stuffed with mild spiced savory filling made with boiled potatoes, green peas and chopped onions. This is my cheat version for the authentic Indian samosas, using store bought Gluten free tortillas. You can use any type of tortillas of your choice for this recipe.
Instructions to make ๐ฎ๐ฎ Tortilla Vegetable Samosa ๐ฎ ๐ฎ:
- Heat the pan at medium heat and add 1 tbsp oil, cumin seeds, coriander powder, dry mango powder, chilly powder and chopped green chillies.Mix all the spices and sautรฉ them for few seconds.Now add boiled, peeled and roughly mashed potatoes with coriander leaves.Mix everything and sautรฉ for 5-6 minutes.
- Add salt to taste and garam masala powder.Transfer these potatoes in a bowl and let them cool completely.In a bowl mix together flour and water together and make a thick paste.Now cut tortillas in half.Fold it in samosa shape and seal it with flour paste.
- Stuff potato filling inside and seal all the surfaces properly using flour paste.Deep fry these samosas on medium heat turning occasionally till they become golden brown and crispy. Serve the samosas with chutney or any sauce.
- Note-: - - 1. You can add more green chilly or red chilly powder according to your taste. - 2. Potato mixture should be cold before stuffing them in tortillas.

- Make sure all the sides and corners are properly sealed before deep frying them. - 4. Keep sufficient oil in pan to ensure that samosas float in oil and do not touch the surface. - Serv hot โจenjoyโบ #Tip: you can also bake this samosa Brush oil over each samosa and pop into the oven to bake. - - Bake for around 10 minutes or until golden in colour and crispy to touch.
The filling is just right and the flour tortilla is surprisingly good. The only thing I changed was that I made some tamarind chutney to dip them in which is my favorite for samosas. I want to use this filling to make a samosa pie for the next pie auction I think it will sell very well. Mix the leftover curry (or the cooked meat and curry paste) together with the potatoes and peas in a bowl. Lay the tortilla wrap on a chopping board with the straight side at the top.
