  1. Combine the bread pieces, suji, curd, salt and 1/2 cup water (or as needed) in a mixing bowl. Mix well to get a thick batter.
  2. Add onion, green chilli, ginger, tomato, coriander leaves and curry leaves. Add the tempering prepared with 1 tsp oil and 1 tsp mustard seeds. Mix everything well to make a idli batter consistency. Add water if required. (You can skip this step if you don't want.)
  3. Cover and keep aside for 30 minutes
  4. Preheat the idli steamer with water.
  5. Grease the idli plate with oil. Pour the batter into the moulds and place it in the steamer.
  6. Cover the lid and steam for 8-10 minutes on a medium flame.
  7. Open the lid, remove the idli plate from the steamer and allow to cool for 3-4 minutes.
  8. Demould and serve bread idli hot with coconut chutney and sambar.
