Transfer fried bread to paper towels. Toss bread cubes with butter; spread onto baking sheet. Add raisins and nuts; mix lightly. Strain syrup; discard cinnamon stick and cloves.

  1. Preheat oven to 375
  2. In a big bowl or recipient crumble bread, into very small pieces
  3. In a separate recipient beat 3 eggs & add can of condensed milk, can of evaporated milk, 1 cup of regular milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, walnuts, raisons, & half cup of butter & mix all together.
  4. Add mixture to crumbled bread & mix very well till all bread is all moistened.

  6. Add bread pudding mixture into buttered pan
  7. Bake time 1 hour & 30 min

Add syrup to bread mixture; mix well. In Mexico, this popular Lenten dessert is typically made with the versatile bolillos, or small bread rolls. Here, the bread is baked instead of sautéed before it is combined with the other. Arrange half of the toasted bread in a single layer in the greased casserole dish. Sprinkle bread with half of the raisins, pecans, and onion.
