Murg Badami is an almond based gravy dish which is made with almond and poppy seeds paste, flavored with cardamom powder and whole spice powder. Instructions to make Badami Chicken:
  1. Wash clean and cut chicken and marinate with ginger garlic paste, dhania, Pudina, green chillies salt and pepper
  2. Over night marination is best
  3. Take the almonds and make a smooth paste and keep aside
  4. Take a pan and tawa fry the onions till they turn transparant
  5. Take the onions and add curd and grind it to a smooth paste.Keep aside.
  6. Take a grill pan and slightly grill the chicken.You can even barbeque it.I toasted the chicken slightly on direct flame for the Smokey effect(put the chicken pieces on a skewker)
  7. Take a non stick pan and add whole garam masala
  8. Now add the onion and curd gravy
  9. When it bubbles add the chicken and let it cook for 10 mins
  10. Then gradually add the almond paste.
  11. This will thicken the gravy
  12. Garnish with fresh mint
  13. Serve hot with rice or roti
  14. For more Smokey flavour- heat a charcoal and place it on a foil on the chicken and pour a drop of pure ghee on the coal and cover immediately.

Usually cook with sliced onions but I used boiled onion  puree that gives a nice creamy taste. You can use sliced onions or simple onion paste.
