  2. Prepare 1 kg chicken

Kadai chicken / Kadhai Chicken / Chicken karahi is a very popular Non-vegetarian recipe from the Northern part of the Indian subcontinent. It is known for its spicy taste and derives its name from the utensil it is cooked in - The Kadai (similar to a wok). Kadai Chicken which is also known as Karahi Chicken or Karahi Murgh is cooked in an Indian vessel called Kadai, which is a heavy-bottomed pot or a wo k, hence the name. Anything that is cooked in Kadai with this special Kadai masala, gets the name such as Kadai Chicken, Kadai Paneer, Kadai Mushrooms, and so on.

Steps to make Kadhai chicken:
  1. Marination : Add the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Salt and pepper to be added in quantities that will suffice for the whole dish
  2. Pre-prep : Take the ingredients and dice it. Make a paste by using a grinder. Add vinegar to the paste
  3. Prep : Dice the onions and capsicum into petals. Deep fry them in oil or in an air frier
  4. To the oil used in the above step add the onion tomato paste and fry it well.
  5. To the fried mixture add the chicken masala and add a cup of water to mix it well.
  6. Add the chicken to the mix and fry it well. Add water to the gravy as per the thickness.
  7. Once the chicken is done add the fried onions and capsicum and mix well till it is settled
  8. Remove it to the serving bowl and add the cream and coriander for garnish
